“Health Ministry report to UN reveals shocking mistreatment of hostages”

The headquarters of the Forum for Hostages and Missing Families responded to the Ministry of Health’s new report to the United Nations on the torture and ill-treatment of the hostages in Gaza: “The Israeli Ministry of Health’s latest report to the United Nations exposes the shocking abuses and torture and the Neglect of the hostages held by Hamas is a devastating reminder of the urgency to bring home the remaining 100 hostages who continue to suffer unimaginably Terror.”

“The shocking testimonies from released hostages reveal a grim reality: over 50 agonizing days, physical abuse, psychological torment and inhumane conditions were inflicted on innocent people, some as young as children and as old as grandparents. Today is almost 450 days, and over half of the 100 hostages – those still in Hamas captivity – continue to suffer the same unbearable reality.”

The forum added: “To the world, its leaders and humanitarian organizations: How can you watch this torture continue? How can you be silent? The truth cannot be denied – every hostage faces mortal danger every day they remain in captivity.”

“There is only one moral course of action: a comprehensive agreement to ensure the immediate release of all hostages.”

“The United States and all mediating parties must use all means at their disposal to end this suffering. Every day lost is a day of unimaginable pain, fear and anguish. Now is the time to act. Lives are at stake.”
