The USA is imposing entry restrictions for some citizens due to the Ebola outbreak

The Trump administration said Thursday it would impose new entry restrictions on U.S. citizens who have recently been in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda or South Sudan, citing the Ebola outbreak in the region.

The Department of Homeland Security directed all flights carrying those travelers to arrive at Dulles International Airport in Virginia, where the government is implementing “enhanced public health measures.”

The restrictions apply to all U.S. citizens and green card holders who have been in those countries within 21 days of arriving in the United States, according to an alert from the State Department on Thursday. The restrictions apply to flights departing after 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday.

The Department of Homeland Security did not provide details about the enhanced public health measures it will implement at Dulles. However, the ministry said it would work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to screen travelers arriving at the airport, where most travelers from Congo, Uganda and South Sudan arrive.
