Rihanna pregnant with second child, revealed at Super Bowl

Rihanna didn’t have a star-studded guest list for her Super Bowl halftime performance, but there was a very unexpected cameo on stage.

On Sunday, the “Lift Me Up” singer took the halftime show stage of Super Bowl 57 in a crimson ensemble that included a stylish jacket and bralette. The singer’s outfit, a custom-made product by LOEWE, also showed off the 34-year-old’s growing baby bump.

Rihanna was also seen rubbing her stomach during the performance, a nod to her soon-to-be bundle of joy. The singer’s rep confirmed the pregnancy shortly after she finished her 13-minute set.

USA TODAY reached out to Rihanna’s rep for more details.

Rihanna welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with rapper A$AP Rocky last May, People and Entertainment Tonight reported at the time. The couple announced they were expecting photos showing the singer’s baby bump in January 2022. Rihanna wore a long pink coat that was unbuttoned to show off her growing belly, adorned with long body chains that cascaded down her stomach.

Ahead of the birth of her baby, Rihanna graced the cover of Vogue magazine’s May issue, where she spoke about how Rocky went out of the “friend zone” when she and the rapper “became my family” and how she found out she was pregnant was.

She told the fashion outlet that the couple’s latest adventure in parenthood wasn’t planned, but they weren’t opposed to the idea either.

“It was just there at the test. I wasted no time,” Rihanna said upon learning she was pregnant for the first time. “I called him in and showed him. Then the next morning I was at the doctor’s office and our journey began.”

Rihanna announced in March 2020 that she would like to have three or four children within the next 10 years: “I know that I want to live differently,” she told British Vogue about how she sees her future. “I will have children – three or four of them.”
