Are Avril Lavigne and Tyga dating?
Avril Lavigne seems to be moving on with Mod Sun’s Tyga. Two weeks after the “Complicated” singer’s rep confirmed to POPSUGAR that she and Sun had ended their engagement, Lavigne was spotted kissing Tyga at Paris Fashion Week. On Monday, the pair were spotted cozying up at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer party, seemingly confirming their rumored romance. Representatives for Lavigne and Tyga did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.
Speculation that Lavigne and Tyga might be dating first surfaced when TMZ published photos on Feb. 20 of the musicians embracing in front of Nobu in Los Angeles. The following day, Lavigne’s rep confirmed that she and Sun had split.
Shortly after, Sun’s rep told POPSUGAR that the couple “had been dating and engaged for three days when Mod left for the tour. So if anything has changed, that’s new to him.” At the time, a source close to the former couple also told People that there was nothing going on between Tyga and Lavigne and that they were “real friends and nothing more.”
In late February, Sun appeared to be figuring out how to cope with the breakup. He shared an Instagram carousel with the caption: “In one week my whole life has completely changed. All I know is that there is a plan for everything. I will keep my head high and always listen to my heart even when it feels broken. Lavigne and Sun were first linked in early 2021, and Sun proposed in Paris in March 2022.
