An excited message published last night (Thursday) in front of the Passah, the survivor of Karina Ariev turned to the people of Israel to forget the 59 kidnappers who are still held in Gaza. Ariev, which was released after 477 days in Hamas, emphasized the feeling of freedom of the entire people as long as there is Israeli in captivity – and called an empty chair at the holiday table as a symbol of identification with those who have not yet returned.
The 20 -year radiation was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2022 during the terrorist attack in South Israel. It was captured in the Gaza tunnels under difficult conditions and the last Seder was found in captivity. This Saturday evening she will celebrate her vacation with her family for the first time in a year and a half – her parents Albert and Ira and her eldest sister Sasha.

“I contact Passah – the freedom vacation – and think of all of our brothers and sisters who have not yet returned,” said Ariev. “To think of them and think of us, because until they do not return, none of us can really be free. On the Seder we read the verse ‘in every generation, you have to see yourself as if it comes out of Egypt, and this meaning changes after experience.
In summary, Ariev asked the public to take a symbolic gesture of identification with the kidnappers: “I ask you that you leave an empty chair for the kidnappers during this vacation and do not forget them.”
