More Biden documents found by the DOJ after searching his Delaware home

WASHINGTON — The FBI According to the president’s attorneys, during a day-long search of his private home on Friday, he found another six items containing classified information from President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware.

The search, which began at 9:45 am. Friday and ended around 10:30 p.m. the same day when classified documents from Biden’s vice presidential and U.S. Senate days surfaced, Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal attorney, said in a statement Saturday.

The revelation contributes to a self-inflicted crisis in the White House that has prompted a special counsel investigation into Biden’s misuse of classified documents and undermined the president’s political momentum.

Friday’s 13-hour search came after Biden’s legal team briefed Justice Department officials on additional classified documents found in the home last week.

Justice Department says FBI conducted a “consensual search.”

Bauer said the Justice Department was given “full access” to the home, including personally handwritten notes, files, papers, binders, memorabilia, to-do lists, schedules and memories dating back “decades.”

Investigators seized “six items consisting of documents with classification marks and surrounding materials” dating back to Biden’s tenure as vice president and U.S. senator, Bauer said. Personal handwritten notes from Biden’s vice presidential years were also confiscated.

A Justice Department spokesman said “the FBI has conducted a planned consensual search” of Biden’s home.

Biden on Rehoboth Beach vacation home in Delaware

Biden left the White House Friday night for Rehoboth Beach, Del., where he is spending the weekend at his vacation home.

In an agreement with the Justice Department, representatives from Biden’s personal legal team and White House counsel were present at the search. Biden was not present.

“The President and his team are working quickly to ensure the Justice Department and the Special Counsel have what they need to conduct a thorough review,” Richard Sauber, the president’s special counsel, said in a statement.

Bauer said the Justice Department asked that the search not be made public in advance.

Biden classified documents

Saturday’s announcement was the fourth time the White House or Biden’s personal attorneys have announced they have found classified documents at Biden-linked locations. The president’s attorneys have not said how many documents were discovered in total.

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel, Robert Hur, to investigate Biden’s handling of the classified documents. In addition, the Republican-led House Oversight and Accountability Committee launched its own investigation.

biden told reporters Thursday he has no regrets about not disclosing the first discovery of classified documents in November, just before the midterm elections.

“We are fully cooperating and look forward to resolving this quickly,” Bide said. “I think you’ll find there’s nothing there.”

A first batch of about 10 classified documents was found Nov. 2 in the former President’s office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington. Biden’s attorneys said they immediately notified the National Archives and the Justice Department.

Six other documents were found in a room next to Biden’s garage at the Wilmington home earlier this month, after an unknown number of documents were discovered in the garage on Dec. 20.
