Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza’s deadpan skills collide at the SAG Awards
Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza are a perfect match — even if they don’t see it.
The 20-year-old ‘Wednesday’ actress and 38-year-old ‘The White Lotus’ star were brought together to present an award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Movie or Limited Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday .
The pair let a good 10 seconds elapse as they reached the podium before Plaza broke the silence.
“I don’t know why they brought us together,” the comedian said with a disdainful look.
Ortega agreed and replied, “Yes, I know, we have nothing in common.”
“We should find the people who did this,” Plaza continued, before Ortega joined them and they said in unison, “and curse their families and watch misfortune follow their bloodlines for the next seven generations.”
“Okay, I see it now,” Plaza said as the crowd roared with laughter.
They’re two peas in a dead pod.
Both Ortega and Plaza were nominated for the SAG Awards at Sunday’s ceremony. Ortega received an award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on Netflix’s Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Plaza was nominated along with her HBO cast members for The White Lotus. The show was recognized for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Jennifer Coolidge also won Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The White Lotus.
