IDF: The footage of the soldier who damaged a statue in Lebanon is authentic

The IDF has completed an initial investigation into the photo of an IDF soldier damaging a Christian symbol and concluded that the photo shows an IDF soldier operating in southern Lebanon.

“The IDF views the incident with great severity and emphasizes that the soldier’s behavior is completely contrary to the values ​​expected of its troops. The incident is being investigated by the Northern Command and is currently being addressed through the entire chain of command. According to the findings, appropriate action will be taken against those involved,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said, adding that “the IDF is working to support the community in restoring the statue to its place.”
