Defense Secretary Katz convened a team to work on destroying Hamas’s governing capabilities

Defense Minister Israel Katz today (Thursday) led the first discussion of the Cabinet’s political security subgroup established to address the issue of destroying the government capabilities of the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Minister of Justice Yariv Levin, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, Minister of National Missions Orit Struck, Minister of the Ministry of Finance Ze’ev Elkin, Chief of Staff Major General Herzi Halevi and others. High-ranking officials of the security system took part in the discussion.

“As part of the discussion, all actions taken to date to undermine Hamas’s rule in the Gaza Strip were presented,” said Katz, who added that the forum will continue to regularly discuss its ability to manage its military and civilian activities.”
