Qatar denies offering Iran money for a deal
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari has dismissed reports that his country had offered Iran $12 billion to secure a deal. According to him, the reports “are being spread by parties seeking to sabotage the agreement and undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts for regional de-escalation and stability.”
He claimed that “Qatar’s diplomatic role in coordination with regional partners is well established and publicly documented and such narratives are nothing but desperate attempts to tarnish Qatar’s reputation as a trustworthy international peace broker.”
