Charlie Chaplin’s “Goldrausch” restored a century after the publication
Cannes, France (AP) – For a hundred years after Charlie Chaplin danced dinner and ate his shoe, as if it were a good food, “The Gold Rush” was lively brought back to life in a new restoration that was premiered on Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival.
On the opening day of his 78th edition, Cannes made a 4K restoration of “The Gold Rush”, one of the most popular quiet masterpieces of Chaplin. In “The Gold Rush”, Chaplin’s lonely prospector changes through the snow -covered wild wild wild less gold than some food and maybe a camaraderie. His Antic, Cliff-Dangling fights make up a large part of the skillful slap stick of the film, but the modest, sweet hopes of the little tramp on romance exceed his strike-it-rich ambitions.
