Trump: Israel will not attack Iran’s gas field again, but US will if Qatar’s energy sites attack

US President Donald Trump said he would not allow another Israeli attack on Iran’s South Pars natural gas field after the IDF attacked the key energy site on Wednesday.

Trump writes on Truth Social that Israel “acted violently against South Pars out of anger over what is happening in the Middle East,” but at the same time emphasizes that only “a relatively small portion” of the oil field was hit.

The US President claims that the US “knew nothing about this particular attack”.

However, U.S. and Israeli officials said that Jerusalem actually coordinated the attack with Washington after Washington was upset about an uncoordinated IDF attack on a fuel facility in Tehran early in the war.

Trump notes that while Qatar was also not involved in the Israeli attack, Iran “unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion” of Qatar’s Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas production facility.

“ISRAEL WILL NOT CONDUCT ANY MORE ATTACKS ON this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent – in this case – Qatar,” Trump wrote.

Should such an Iranian attack occur, the US will – “with or without Israel’s help or consent – massively blow up the entire South Pars gas field with a strength and power that Iran has never seen or experienced before,” Trump added.

“I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long-term impact it will have on Iran’s future, but if Qatar’s LNG is attacked again I will not hesitate to do so,” he says.
