PM: Stanley Fischer helped the Israeli economy to return to stability during the global economic crisis

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “I was very sad to hear from the farewell of the former bank of the Israel -Gouvenur Prof. Stanley Fischer from a blessed memory.”

“Stanley was a great Zionist who did a great thing – a man with an international stature who left everything, did Aliyah and took over the position of the governor I offered him.

“He was also an outstanding economist. As part of his role as governor, he contributed greatly to the Israeli economy, in particular to return stability during the global economic crisis.

“Over the years, Stanley Israel proudly represented in the world in a number of leading positions in which he promoted both in the global and in the American economies and in the promotion of the good name and the economy of Israel.

“May his memory be blessed.”
